NEW IMPROVED DESIGN FOR 2026
This is the best selling and best priced stand on hammocks.ie and now the best just got better but without a price rise. Before I get all technical let me bang out a couple of lines of why this just might be what you’re looking for…
Two trees spaced 3 or 4m apart in your garden is a wonderful thing for an aspiring hammockist. Building regs don’t specify that as a condition for house building which means often people often just have one tree where they want to hang. And so here is your solution my friends. Half a Hammock stand is the other end. By creating a tripod from a sturdy stick, two guy ropes and a pair of bad boy ground anchors you have made something very stable.
These have been designed and made in Cork for over 20 years by Hammockology but sometimes even a good design can be improved on. We actually have to credit DPD, our couriers, for pushing us into the biggest change. The new stick comes in two halves which keeps the whole package as a very neat 80cm long for delivery, which in turn means that it’s not classed as a bulky item by DPD and works out currently as 8 quid cheaper to deliver to you compared to the old 1.5m stick. Money in your pocket.
But it gets better, being in two pieces the stand is easily transported and stored. Take it camping or to the park because it’s easy to find something for the other end. The sleeve connecting the two pieces is made from heavy duty stainless steel for strength and rust protection. The top piece simply drops into the sleeve, no screws or bolts, just gravity.
I’m starting to ramble so I’ll get to the tech bit. Here’s what you need to know.
It will take any hammock but you might need some extras. You will need to connect your hammock to the tree or post. We have a range of straps, and ropes for this, have a browse in Hanging Solutions for Hammocks.
If your hammock has a hook then you need nothing else. However if your hammock has a ring or loop then you will need to make the connection between the eye bolt on the stand and your hammock. We recommend carabiners for this. You can buy one here
The stand has a 5m long rope going from the stand back to the tree, this is to make getting in and out easier and to keep everything in place when nobody is in the hammock. It takes no real strain so can be tied with any old granny knot to the highest point you can reach, this keeps the rope out of your way. With this rope attached you can remove the hammock without everything collapsing. Cork genius.
The little white triangular bits of plastic on the ropes are cleats used for tensioning, this is very important. Floppy ropes aren’t good, you will often have to retentioin the ropes after you get in for the first time in the stick sinks into the ground just a bit.
The anchors are long and strong, they need to be. Bang them into the ground as far as they will go.
Keep everything the same, the distance between the 3 points on the ground and the angle of the ropes/stick. That way the strain is split evenly.
Take it in for the winter. Give it a coat of something in a couple of years.
Have a look at this out of date video.

Please note that all hammocks except the Ticket to the Moon ones (which have a hook) will require a carabiner or similar to connect the hammock to the eyebolt.
Also, to tie off to a tree or post you will require one length of rope or strap. The Tree Friendly Hanging Chair Kit is perfect for this and much cheaper than buying a pair.
Both products can be bought at a discount above.
